Job Summary:
Packwell Manufacturing is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Aluminium Foil Winding Operator to operate and monitor foil winding machines. The role involves converting large rolls of aluminium foil into smaller rolls with precise measurements, maintaining quality and production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate aluminium foil winding machines as per job specifications.
- Load jumbo foil rolls onto machines and ensure proper alignment and tension.
- Monitor the winding process to prevent wrinkles, tears, or uneven winding.
- Adjust machine settings to achieve desired roll length, width, and tension.
- Conduct routine quality checks on foil thickness, length, and winding accuracy.
- Label and package finished rolls for dispatch or further processing.
- Record production data, material usage, and any machine issues.
- Clean and maintain winding machines, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Communicate effectively with the production and maintenance teams.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of experience operating foil or paper winding machines.
- Understanding of machine operation, foil properties, and quality standards.
- Ability to identify and correct winding defects.
- Good physical stamina and ability to handle material rolls.
- Basic mechanical skills for minor adjustments and maintenance.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical or industrial operations.
- Previous experience in aluminium foil converting or flexible packaging industry.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing floor with machinery, noise, and exposure to foil dust.
- Shift-based work may be required (day/night rotation).
- Standing for extended periods and lifting of moderate loads.
