PRIVATE CREDIT
Goldman Sachs' Private Credit team sits on the private side of the Asset Management Division. Private Credit is one of the world's largest alternative credit investing platforms with investment professionals based in the US, Europe, and Asia Pacific and Australia. Private Credit originates investments and invests third-party capital across asset finance, senior secured loans, mezzanine/Hold Co unsecured debt, and hybrid capital solutions to corporates and PE sponsors preferred equity and opportunistic credit supporting buyouts led by Private Equity sponsors. The Private Credit team is a top tier platform in the direct lending market and is consistently involved in the largest direct lending and hybrid capital transactions.
Associates in Private Credit work as part of small deal teams responsible for identifying, performing due diligence, structuring, executing and monitoring corporate debt investments. Analysts and Associates are involved in a wide range of high-profile transactions across the capital structure and in a variety of industries in support of transactions that include asset financing, leveraged buyouts, take privates, add-on acquisitions , recapitalizations, and complex financings, mostly for Private Equity backed businesses. The work is deal-focused and exciting and will bring you in contact with a wide range of businesses, entrepreneurs, industries, Private Equity clients, investment structures and products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Originating investment ideas across the product suite of Credit via early engagement with relevant parties (e.g., advisors, financial sponsors / company management teams)
- Engaging with potential investors and preparing materials to support capital formation both internally and externally
- Engaging in all aspects of due diligence and business analysis to develop and refine investment theses
- Participating in structuring, negotiating and documenting investments
- Communicating and defending investment theses to internal stakeholders and committees, including relevant AMD and Firm-wide Investment Committees
- Actively monitoring existing investments in the portfolio
- Building relationships with sponsors, management teams and internal GS stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS
- Investment Banking and OR Private Credit / Equity candidate with 2 to 5 years’ experience
- Preference for candidate with experience in interacting with management teams, advisors, DD providers, co-lenders
- Strong quantitative, financial modelling, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Passion for investing with specific interest in credit / other structured products
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Preferred direct exposure to management teams and potential investors
- Flexible and creative mindset; ability to analyse a variety of industries and capital structures businesses
- Ability to self-direct, analyse and evaluate and form independent judgments
- Ability to interact and build relationships with a wide variety of people
