Aldar Education is seeking an Assistant Career Counsellor to join the school team.

The Assistant Career Counsellor supports the Career Counsellor in guiding students through university pathways, career planning, and work experience programmes. This role involves administrative coordination, student support, event planning, and liaising with external organisations to ensure students are well-prepared for life beyond school.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in Counselling or Psychology
Minimum Experience:
- Experince working in a school setting
Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students, parents, and external partners effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office and student data management systems.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines.

Main Duties:
- Support the Career Counsellor in guiding students through university application processes, career pathways, and future employment planning
- Assist with administrative tasks related to university admissions, work experience placements, and alumni tracking
- Coordinate communication with universities, external organisations, and parents on matters relating to higher education and career planning
- Help organise and support career-related events such as university fairs, guest speaker sessions, workshops, and presentations
- Maintain and update student records, university databases, and relevant documents relating to applications, offers, and internships
- Provide logistical support in arranging work experience placements and ensure required documentation is collected and filed appropriately
- Support students in building key employability skills including resume writing, personal statements, and interview preparation
Other Duties:
University & Career Pathway Support
- Assist in the delivery of information sessions related to university choices, application timelines, and international admission requirements.
- Help compile and distribute informational materials and guides to students and families.
- Track student progress on university applications and flag missing documents or approaching deadlines.
- Maintain a central database of university contacts, deadlines, student applications, and offers.
Work Experience Coordination
- Coordinate work experience placements with external providers, ensuring alignment with student interests and school policy.
- Collect and organise all necessary paperwork including agreements, parental consents, and risk assessments.
- Serve as a point of contact for students and employers during placement periods.
- Monitor and record student feedback and outcomes from work experience opportunities.
