The BIM Coordinator will be directly reporting to the BIM Manager. He will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of drawings for all the disciplines and ensure that it achieves technical compliance .
Key Objectives
- To ensure BIM standards are developed, implemented, and enforced.
- To manage BIM software and any related software related to BIM.
- To automate routines in BIM to support standard and productivity.
- To actively monitor project standards, modeling, detailing, project setup, and resolving BIM issues.
Expectations & Responsibilities related to your role.
1. DESIGN
- Work within the Design Team to carry out the modeling and detailing of projects.
- Support the team by providing technical BIM expertise to ensure that projects are delivered to proper quality standards.
- Manage and check the BIM Cloud ensuring accessibility of the project documents for official use.
- Be actively involved in the delivery of project packages or parts of projects as part of the team.
- Be actively involved in the design and technical production of projects.
- Undertake Modelling and Detailing on global projects.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to minimize the load of the QA/QC department.
- Work with the Technical Specialist on the delivery of major projects using CAD and BIM software packages, as required.
- Ensure that projects are delivered to the agreed outputs on time and meet quality standards.
- Assist with the preparation of expressions of interest and proposals as required.
- Prepare Authority submittal package.
- Use Parametric script to enhance the delivery of the project milestone.
- Link BIM to the project construction administration Phase for submittals, construction models, shop drawings and schedules.
- Support the BIM technology needs.
- Conduct internal training sessions to provide Revit fundamental knowledge to staff.
2. TECHNICAL AND QA/QC
- Produce drawings in accordance with guidelines and within project deadlines under supervision.
- Understand building construction to at least a basic level.
- Perform personal QA/QC check of own work and drawings before presenting for review.
- Conduct research on suppliers and building materials as required.
- Fill in and submit timesheets in a timely manner and observe attendance procedures.
- Risk management - is aware of responsibilities as an architect, inform the project leaders of issues and be aware of and manages the risks identified by the project risk register.
- Keep accurate records of meeting actions and follow up in a timely manner alerting others were required.
Education and Training
- Master’s degree in architecture or related field
- Good knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and other design tools Autodesk certification a plus.
- 2-5 years of drafting experience using Revit and AutoCAD to produce detailed architectural drawings.
- Proficient using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office.
- Able to read & create a full set of construction drawings with details.
- Proficiency in Rhino is considered a plus.
- Confidence to work within multi-disciplinary design environments
- Planning and time management skills.
- Model making skills are desirable.
- Know scripts and other parametric design.
Experience
- Minimum of 5-10 years professional experience.
- Previous experience in complex and tall buildings.
- Possesses experience across diverse projects, including residential, mixed-use developments, retail, hotels, civic…etc.
