The role will be responsible for sourcing, pricing, supplier negotiations, assortment planning, and driving profitability for the assigned categories. Ensure smooth buying operations through vendor identification, evaluation and selection, in compliance with the contract principles to achieve the strategic and financial objectives of the concept.

Buying & Product Selection:
- Plan, Identify and select new range of products and review the existing ones
- Analyze consumer buying patterns and predicting future trends
- Assist in sourcing and selecting products for the defined categories
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trending and cost-effective products.
- Support the development of private-label and exclusive product lines to drive differentiation.
- Coordinate with suppliers to obtain samples, pricing, and quality certifications.
Supplier & Vendor Coordination:
- Maintain relationships with global and regional suppliers, ensuring compliance with cost, quality, and delivery standards.
- Support in negotiation of pricing, MOQs (Minimum Order Quantities), and delivery timelines.
- Track supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delays, quality concerns, or stock shortages.
Pricing & Inventory Management:
- Assist in setting competitive prices while ensuring profit margins and cost efficiency.
- Monitor stock levels and support demand planning to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
- Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure timely delivery and replenishment.
Category & Sales Analysis:
- Analyze sales performance, market trends, and customer preferences to support buying decisions.
- Prepare reports on category performance, pricing trends, and supplier efficiency.
- Identify slow-moving SKUs and suggest promotional strategies or markdowns.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the merchandising, marketing, and operations teams to ensure a seamless product launch and promotional planning.
- Coordinate with finance teams for PO (Purchase Order) processing and cost approvals.
- Assist in the preparation of seasonal buying plans and budget forecasts
- Partner with the Merchandise Planner to manage and control inventory levels, stock replenishment and delivery objective
- FDDI/NIFT Graduate with 5 to 10 years of work experience in Retail Buying.
- Strong product development experience in related category.
- Expertise on MS Excel for budgeting purposes.
- Knowledge of footwear retail within the region. Knowledge and ability to visualize and anticipate the needs of the business.
- Knowledge and understanding of fashion, trends, market shifts etc.
- Buying process and practices including multiple critical path management.
