We are looking for a skilled and experienced Chinese Chef to lead the preparation and presentation of authentic Chinese cuisine. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of regional Chinese cooking styles and be capable of maintaining high standards in food quality, hygiene, and kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and present authentic Chinese dishes including Cantonese, Szechuan, Hunan, and other regional specialties.
- Ensure consistency in flavor, portioning, and presentation of all Chinese dishes.
- Manage day-to-day kitchen operations related to the Chinese cuisine section.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety in accordance with health and safety regulations (HACCP).
- Oversee mise en place and ensure timely execution of dishes during service hours.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff in Chinese cooking techniques and kitchen discipline.
- Assist in menu planning, development of new Chinese dishes, and cost control.
- Monitor inventory and ordering of Chinese ingredients and kitchen supplies.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and stock rotation of food items.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience as a Chinese Chef in a restaurant or hotel setting.
- Formal culinary training or certification is preferred.
- Expertise in traditional and modern Chinese cooking methods (wok, steaming, roasting, stir-fry, etc.).
- Familiarity with using authentic Chinese ingredients, herbs, and sauces.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and train a multicultural kitchen team.
- Good knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
Language Requirements:
- Proficiency in English (spoken & written); knowledge of Mandarin or Cantonese is an advantage.
