We are looking for a passionate and creative Commis Pastry Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. You will assist in the preparation of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods under the guidance of the Pastry Chef. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a strong foundation in pastry arts within a professional kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily preparation and production of pastries, desserts, and baked goods
- Follow recipes and instructions given by the Pastry Chef or senior kitchen staff
- Ensure consistent presentation and quality of all pastry items
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry section
- Assist in inventory control and stock rotation
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
- Support with mise en place and service preparation
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service
- Stay updated with current pastry trends and techniques
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of pastry and baking techniques
- Culinary or pastry qualification is preferred
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays
