We are looking for a detail-oriented Data Administrator with a solid background in mechanical and piping engineering and advanced expertise in Microsoft tools, especially Excel. The successful candidate will support project teams by managing technical data, maintaining accurate records, generating reports, and assisting with documentation control related to mechanical and piping systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, organize, and maintain technical data related to mechanical and piping components, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Develop and manage detailed Excel spreadsheets for material tracking, progress reports, welding logs, and inspection records.
- Use advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, conditional formatting, macros) to automate and improve data workflows.
- Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure accurate data input and update of key project documents.
- Maintain up-to-date equipment lists, piping line schedules, isometric drawings, and P&ID tracking sheets.
- Assist in the preparation of mechanical completion dossiers, turnover documentation, and handover packages.
- Generate reports and dashboards to support progress monitoring and decision-making.
- Ensure version control and proper documentation of all mechanical and piping-related data.
- Maintain data quality and integrity while complying with company standards and project requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in a data administration or technical document control role within a mechanical and piping context (EPC, construction, oil & gas, or manufacturing).
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel, with proficiency in formulas, data validation, pivot tables, and macros.
- Proficiency in other MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint).
- Familiarity with piping specifications, isometric drawings, BOMs, and engineering workflows.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage large data sets with accuracy.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, technical environment.
