About the Role
We are a leading multi-specialty medical clinic in Dubai seeking an experienced DHA Licensed Dental departments. The Nurse will ensure Dubai Health Authority (DHA) compliance, and deliver the highest standards of patient care in a clinic environment.
This role requires strong leadership skills, expertise in dental nursing (orthodontics, implants, cosmetic dentistry, periodontics), as well as a commitment to punctuality, professional discipline, and being a role model for the nursing team.
Dental Assistant / Dental Nurse –
Key Job Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures, including:
- General dentistry: fillings, extractions, crowns, bridges, root canals (endodontics)
- Cosmetic procedures: veneers, whitening, bonding, smile makeovers
- Implant surgery: surgical setup, patient prep, suctioning, instrument handling
- Orthodontics: bracket placement, wire changes, clear aligner fittings, appliance care
- Periodontics: deep cleanings, scaling and root planing, post-treatment care
- Preventative care: hygiene support, fluoride treatments, patient education
Sterilization and Infection Control
- Maintain strict sterilization protocols for instruments and dental units
- Disinfect and prepare treatment rooms before and after procedures
- Ensure all equipment meets infection control and safety standards
- Handle disposal of biohazardous materials in compliance with DHA regulations
Patient Care and Comfort
- Greet, prepare, and seat patients for treatment
- Ensure patients are comfortable, informed, and at ease before and during procedures
- Educate patients on post-treatment care, oral hygiene, and preventative practices
- Monitor patient condition during complex or surgical treatments
Clinical Setup and Support
- Prepare instruments, materials, and equipment based on the specific procedure
- Mix and handle dental materials (impression materials, bonding agents, cements)
- Take and process dental X-rays (if licensed) or assist the dentist in positioning the sensor
- Support dentists with charting, documentation, and treatment planning
Inventory and Supplies Management
- Monitor stock levels of clinical supplies and materials
- Place supply orders and ensure timely restocking
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly inventory checklists
- Organize supply rooms, operatory drawers, and storage spaces efficiently
Documentation and Administrative Support
- Update and maintain accurate patient records in the clinic’s software system
- Document procedures, materials used, and patient vitals
- Assist with appointment scheduling, billing coordination, and treatment plan explanations
- Support insurance verification and submission processes, if required
Team Collaboration
- Communicate clearly with dentists, other nurses, hygienists, and front desk staff
- Participate in regular team meetings and clinical training sessions
- Provide input for improving patient care, workflows, and clinic protocols
- Step in to assist other departments (e.g., dermatology or reception) when needed
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all practices comply with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) regulations
- Participate in DHA inspections and ensure clinical readiness
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local healthcare and safety standards
