The role involves providing clinical and professional guidance to the Division Head or Medical Director to ensure effective clinical governance, audit, and risk management practices. It also includes offering clinical leadership to peers and physicians to support the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, and cost-effective patient care in alignment with the organization’s objectives.
Key Accountabilities
Specific Responsibilities for this Role
- To provide effective clinical leadership, support and management guidance to all departmental physicians working in the hospital
- Ensure the overall, effective, and smooth running of the department on a daily basis. This includes physician scheduling and leave management.
- Ensures that correct privileging is in place for every physician in the department, by ensuring the DOCP documentation signed off and available for review and DOCP renewals are completed in timely manner
- Monitor and manage clinical staff in the department to ensure delivery of effective, safe, and high-quality patient care by reviewing Press Ganey feedback, daily engagement with Physicians in your department and other clinical staff when needed and participation and contribution towards Quality and Patient Safety improvement initiatives. Ensuring you act as a mentor for all categories of junior Physicians in the department.
- Provide clinical direction to the clinical team and hospital leadership in general and take active participation in relevant hospital committees.
- Ensure confidentiality is always maintained in all aspects of the work
- Ensure that all clinical staff understand and adhere to the regulations of the relevant licensing body. Conduct regular audits, ensure JCI compliance and ensure accuracy of clinical records
- Conduct performance appraisal meetings with Physicians and complete Physicians probation appraisal.
- Department clinical complaints are amicably resolved and reported to the relevant channels.
- Support the continuous development of clinical competence in the hospital by supporting relevant training initiatives, encouraging attendance of CME’s and in-house trainings.
- Provide employees with the opportunities to grow and develop by encouraging self-learning and initiating training and development initiatives, coaching and on-the-job training.
- Candidate applications are reviewed and actively participate in the interview process for new Physicians.
- Clearly communicate expectations and ensure that roles and responsibilities are clarified.
- Provides direction to direct reports by ensuring that everyone understands the strategy of the company/department and the supporting operational and clinical goals that needs to be met.
- Drives motivation and engagement of people through creating a trusting environment where people are provided with the opportunities to try out new initiatives without feeling fearful.

- PCI is everyone’s responsibility. All staff are required to read and implement the NMC PCI Policy and Strategy in an effort to maintain the highest possible standards of cleanliness at all times, thus reducing the risk of infection in patients, staff and visitors.
- The strictest hand hygiene, 5 moments of hand hygiene, bare below the elbows and environmental care, will be expected of all staff, including the post holder, at all times

Minimum Qualification & Experiences
- Qualified and licenced Medical Practitioner
- Post graduate qualification will be an advantage Registered with the relevant regulatory body in the UAE
