We are looking for a skilled Electrical Draftsman to create accurate technical drawings and layouts for electrical systems in residential, commercial, or industrial projects. The ideal candidate should be proficient in AutoCAD and other drafting tools, and have a strong understanding of electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, ELV, and panel schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings including layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematic diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
- Develop shop drawings and as-built drawings based on project specifications and engineering inputs.
- Coordinate with engineers and project teams to ensure drawings meet technical requirements and project standards.
- Update and revise existing drawings as per site modifications or design changes.
- Ensure all drawings comply with local codes, project standards, and client requirements.
- Maintain drawing logs, records, and document control standards.
- Assist in creating load schedules, panel board schedules, cable routing, and coordination drawings.
- Support the design team in preparing design documentation for tender or construction purposes.
- Perform quantity take-offs from drawings when required.
- Communicate effectively with other disciplines (mechanical, civil, architecture) to avoid clashes in drawings.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma or ITI in Electrical Engineering or Drafting.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an Electrical Draftsman in construction or MEP projects.
- Proficient in AutoCAD (2D), and optionally Revit MEP or other drafting software.
- Good understanding of electrical systems: lighting, power, earthing, fire alarm, data/telecom, etc.
- Familiarity with relevant standards and codes (e.g., IEC, NEC, DEWA, or local regulations).
- Attention to detail and accuracy in drawing preparation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred:
- Experience working on high-rise buildings, infrastructure, or industrial facilities.
- Knowledge of BIM software (e.g., Revit) and coordination processes.
- Previous experience in GCC or large-scale MEP companies is a plus.
