Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, plans, and elevations for custom joinery, furniture, and interior fittings based on client specifications.
- Use CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software, such as AutoCAD or Revit, to create accurate and precise designs.
- Coordinate with the design team to translate initial concepts into production-ready designs.
- Modify and adjust designs as required to ensure feasibility, functionality, and aesthetics.
- Assist in selecting materials and finishes in alignment with design specifications.
- Review and check drawings for accuracy, compliance with regulations, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Prepare as-built drawings and documents for final approvals.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure the successful translation of designs into actual products.
- Maintain records of design revisions and updates for each project.
- Provide technical support and guidance to carpenters, machinists, and other production staff as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and timelines.
- Attend client meetings to discuss design changes, specifications, and updates.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- At least 2-3 years of experience as a draftsman, preferably in the joinery or furniture manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD software.
- Strong knowledge of joinery and furniture manufacturing processes and materials.
- Familiarity with industry standards, building codes, and regulations.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with designers, engineers, and production teams.
- Problem-solving ability and the ability to suggest design improvements.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
