Position Summary:
SEHA is seeking a highly skilled and board-certified Endocrinology Consultant to provide specialized care in diagnosing and managing a broad range of endocrine and metabolic disorders. The Consultant will play a key role in supporting inpatient and outpatient services, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to clinical excellence across SEHA hospitals in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of patients with endocrine disorders such as diabetes, thyroid diseases, adrenal and pituitary disorders, and metabolic bone diseases.
Conduct detailed endocrine assessments using evidence-based clinical and diagnostic approaches.
Manage complex endocrine cases in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including dietitians, primary care providers, surgeons, and other specialists, to ensure holistic patient care.
Perform and interpret relevant investigations including dynamic endocrine tests, imaging, and laboratory evaluations.
Participate in hospital rounds, clinical case discussions, and departmental meetings.
Contribute to quality assurance, clinical audits, research, and continuing education within the department.
Supervise, mentor, and support the training of junior doctors and medical residents.
Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with SEHA and DOH standards.
Uphold the highest standards of ethical practice, patient safety, and infection control.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized university.
Completion of Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Endocrinology from an accredited training program.
Board Certification in Endocrinology (e.g., ABIM, MRCP, FRCP, Arab Board or equivalent).
Valid DOH License (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) or eligibility to obtain one.
Minimum of 3–5 years of post-specialization experience as a Specialist/ Consultant Endocrinologist.
Strong clinical skills with up-to-date knowledge in endocrine diagnostics and treatment.
Proficiency in electronic medical records and digital health systems.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
