Job Purpose:
The Engineer - Civil, within the Center of Excellence, is responsible for providing specialized civil engineering expertise and support across Dubai Holding Community Management's projects and operations. This role contributes to establishing and upholding technical standards, reviewing designs, ensuring quality assurance, and facilitating the effective management of civil infrastructure and assets within DHCM's communities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Civil Engineering Technical Support & Expertise:
Provide specialized civil engineering input and technical guidance for various projects, developments, and operational initiatives across DHCM communities.
Assist in the review and analysis of civil engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and proposals from developers, consultants, and contractors.
Conduct technical studies and assessments related to civil infrastructure, land development, and site conditions.
2. Standards, Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of civil engineering standards, guidelines, and best practices within the Center of Excellence.
Participate in quality assurance reviews and inspections of civil works to ensure adherence to approved designs, specifications, and quality standards.
Ensure compliance with all relevant local and international civil engineering codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., Dubai Municipality, RTA).
3. Documentation & Data Analysis:
Review and maintain accurate technical documentation, including as-built drawings, reports, and calculations related to civil infrastructure and assets.
Assist in collecting, analysing, and interpreting civil engineering data to support decision-making and performance monitoring.
4. Project Assistance & Coordination:
Provide technical assistance and coordination support for civil infrastructure projects, from planning and design review to construction and handover phases.
Collaborate effectively with internal departments (e.g., Infrastructure, Community Management, Takeover Management) and external stakeholders on civil engineering matters.
5. Issue Resolution & Problem Solving:
Support the investigation and diagnosis of civil-related technical issues, defects, and operational challenges.
Assist in developing and recommending effective, practical solutions to resolve identified civil engineering problems.
6. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Responsibilities:
Ensure full compliance with DHCM’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Policy, governance framework, and standards by conducting all tasks according to HSE procedures, attending mandatory training, actively reporting hazards, near misses, or incidents, and utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as identified in risk assessments.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a focus on infrastructure, land development, or property management projects, preferably in the UAE.
- Strong foundational knowledge of civil engineering principles, design standards, and construction practices.
- Familiarity with local regulations and codes related to civil works in Dubai/UAE.
