We are seeking a passionate and qualified English Teacher to join our team, specializing in IGCSE English Literature and Language instruction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and comprehensive IGCSE English Literature and Language lessons to students aged 11-16
- Develop lesson plans aligned with Cambridge / Edexcel IGCSE curriculum requirements and assessment objectives
- Prepare students for both Literature (0486/0992) and Language (0500/0990) examinations
- Foster critical thinking, analytical writing, and literary appreciation skills
- Assess student progress through regular assignments, mock exams, and constructive feedback
- Create a supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and discussion
- Guide students through prescribed texts and poetry selections for literature component
- Develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills for language component
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievement
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student development and academic performance
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English Literature, English Language, or related field
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent)
- Proven experience teaching IGCSE English or equivalent international curriculum
- Strong knowledge of Cambridge IGCSE English Literature and Language syllabi
- Excellent command of English language with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in English or Education
- Cambridge examiner experience
- Experience with diverse student populations
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms and educational technology
