WOOD CARPENTER
Key Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials based on design plans.
- Install wooden structures such as doors, cabinets, staircases, partitions, and frameworks.
- Perform repairs or replacements of damaged woodwork in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Select appropriate materials based on strength, budget, and aesthetic requirements.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Ensure high standards of quality and precision in all work.
- Sand, stain, paint, or varnish finished pieces as required.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals such as electricians and plumbers as needed.
- Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a wood carpenter or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of wood properties and other materials.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
- High school diploma or technical training in carpentry or a related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Carpentry or Vocational Training.
- Experience with CNC machines or advanced woodworking tools.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of math and measurements.
