General Manager – Import & Export (International Trading)
The General Manager – Import & Export will lead Trace Point’s international trading operations, driving business growth, expanding global markets, and ensuring smooth cross-border trade. This role requires deep expertise in global trade, regulatory compliance, and market expansion, with the ability to build and maintain strong international partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Market Development
- Develop and execute strategic plans for global import and export operations.
- Identify, evaluate, and penetrate new international markets and trade opportunities.
- Establish partnerships with international suppliers, distributors, and government authorities.
Import & Export Operations
- Oversee end-to-end import and export processes, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and international trade laws.
- Manage procurement, shipping, logistics, and supply chain efficiency.
- Negotiate contracts, shipping terms, and trade agreements with global partners.
Financial & Risk Management
- Prepare and manage budgets for international trade operations.
- Optimize cost structures, freight charges, and tariffs to enhance profitability.
- Oversee trade finance, letters of credit, and risk management related to cross-border transactions.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor a diverse, multicultural team to strengthen global operations.
- Build capacity for international business negotiations and compliance.
- Foster teamwork and accountability across regions and business units.
Compliance & Legal Affairs
- Ensure compliance with UAE, GCC, and international trade laws.
- Supervise documentation, customs clearance, and contract management.
- Mitigate financial and operational risks associated with global transactions.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, International Trade, Supply Chain, or related fields.
- 5–10 years of proven experience in international import/export trading, with at least 3 years in senior management.
Market & Industry Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of Middle Eastern and global markets.
- Established global network with suppliers, shipping lines, and government bodies.
Leadership & Management Skills
- Strong leadership with proven success in managing multicultural teams.
- Excellent operational knowledge of supply chain, procurement, and logistics.
Financial & Legal Expertise
- Strong background in trade finance, customs regulations, and tax planning.
- Skilled in international contracts, letters of credit, and compliance.
Language Skills
- Native Arabic speaker with fluency in English; Chinese or any other language proficiency is an advantage.
