Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead and oversee our Joinery Division. This senior leadership role will be responsible for strategic planning, operational management, sales and business development and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in joinery production. The GM will manage all levels of the joinery team, from Production Managers and Chargehands to carpenters, and will drive growth, profitability, and operational excellence across the division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the overall strategy including sales development for the joinery division in alignment with company goals.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and client requirements to drive business growth.
- Plan and execute annual budgets, production targets, and resource allocation.
- Oversee all joinery production operations, ensuring timely delivery of projects with the highest quality standards.
- Ensure workflow efficiency, optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.
- Implement systems for quality control, safety compliance, and continuous process improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and manage senior production managers, chargehands, and workshop teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and high performance across the division.
- Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance technical and managerial skills within the team.
- Coordinate with project teams, design teams, and clients to ensure seamless execution of projects.
- Address escalated production or client-related issues efficiently and professionally.
- Maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Monitor operational budgets, cost controls, and profitability of the division.
- Approve procurement of materials, equipment, and manpower based on project requirements.
- Ensure optimal utilization of resources and minimize wastage.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Interior Design, Carpentry/Joinery, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in joinery or interior fit-out industry, with at least 8 years in a senior management role in the UAE.
- Strong technical knowledge of joinery production, materials, machinery, and processes.
- Proven experience in managing large teams and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting and cost control.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to troubleshoot operational challenges effectively.
- Excellent market knowledge and industry contacts to support consultants and project management (PM) teams in securing and successfully delivering projects.
