About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Gypsum Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with drywall installation, finishing, and framing. You will be responsible for working on a variety of projects ranging from residential builds to commercial fit-outs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install gypsum board (drywall) on walls and ceilings.
- Cut, shape, and fit panels accurately according to layout specifications.
- Construct and install metal or wood framing for walls and ceilings.
- Apply joint tape and compound to seams, corners, and surface imperfections.
- Sand, finish, and prepare surfaces for painting or final treatment.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
- Collaborate with other trades to ensure smooth project flow.
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite.
- Follow safety protocols and use PPE at all times.
Requirements:
- Minimum [X] years of experience as a gypsum carpenter or drywall installer.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy panels and materials.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Valid [driver’s license / work permit / certifications, if applicable].
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with decorative gypsum work (e.g., false ceilings, arches, coves).
- Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
