The main role of the Hospitality Cleaner is to keep the hospital clean, safe, infection-free and maintain pleasant and friendly atmosphere. The Hospital Cleaner works closely with other departments in making the hospital clean, and pleasant at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Cleans hospital patient rooms, washrooms, laboratories, offices, halls, and other areas: Washes beds and mattresses, and remakes beds after dismissal of patients.
· Keeps utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition.
· Distributes laundered patients’ gowns and linens,
· Handwashing shall be performed before and after each patient contact at all times’
· Duties include mopping, and sweeping floors; cleaning windows and dusting furniture; and ensuring that all waste is disposed of properly.
· A clean uniform must be worn daily
· Assist in monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards within the center
· To carry out spot cleaning and ensure spillages are dealt with swiftly and efficiently;
· A hospitality cleaner must be polite towards patient and visitors;
· To report household maintenance in line with local policy e.g. busted bulbs, worn-out batteries, blocked sinks etc;
· Replaces soiled drapes and cubicle curtains.
· May disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides and sterilizing equipment.
