WSP is seeking an experienced HSE Inspector with a strong background in utilities and infrastructure projects to join our construction supervision team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will have prior experience working with engineering consultants on major infrastructure works, and will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards in accordance with ADOSH/OHSAD, NEBOSH, and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Monitor and inspect site activities to ensure compliance with project HSE plans, ADOSH/OHSAD regulations, and WSP safety policies.
- Conduct daily site inspections for utilities-related works (water, sewerage, stormwater, electrical, telecom, etc.) and ensure adherence to safe work practices.
- Review and verify contractors’ HSE documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and toolbox talks.
- Report unsafe acts/conditions, issue corrective actions, and follow up until closure.
- Participate in incident/accident investigations and prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis and recommendations.
- Conduct safety induction training for new site personnel and refresher sessions for ongoing staff.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe access/egress to all work areas.
- Maintain accurate records of HSE inspections, observations, and reports for submission to the Resident Engineer.
- Coordinate with the contractor’s HSE team to proactively resolve safety concerns before they become incidents.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5–8 years of HSE experience in construction supervision, with at least 3 years in utilities/infrastructure projects in the UAE.
- Previous experience working with engineering consultants on large-scale infrastructure/road/utility projects is essential.
- Valid ADOSH or OHSAD HSE Practitioners Certificate.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent.
- ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification (advantageous).
- Strong knowledge of UAE and Abu Dhabi HSE regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
