Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Policy and Procedure Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive HSE policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Regularly review and update safety policies to reflect changes in regulations and industry best practices.
- Risk Assessment and Management:
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement control measures to mitigate risks.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Prepare and submit required safety and environmental reports to regulatory agencies and company management.
- Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on HSE policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Conduct safety drills and exercises to ensure employees are prepared to respond to emergencies effectively.
- Inspections and Audits:
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the manufacturing facility to ensure adherence to HSE standards.
- Identify areas of improvement and work with relevant departments to implement corrective actions.
- Incident Response and Investigation:
- Lead the response to workplace incidents, including accidents, injuries, and environmental spills.
- Conduct thorough investigations to determine the causes of incidents and recommend preventive measures.
- Environmental Management:
- Develop and implement environmental management programs to minimize the company's environmental impact.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Safety Culture Promotion:
- Promote a culture of safety by encouraging proactive safety behaviors and recognizing exemplary safety performance.
- Facilitate open communication about safety concerns and suggestions for improvement among employees.
- Documentation and Recordkeeping:
- Maintain accurate records of safety training, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible for audits and inspections.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in a similar HSE role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH and OSHA etc. Approval from EGA will be preferred.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety and environmental standards.
- Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and training skills.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization and promote a collaborative safety culture.
Working Conditions:
- Environment: Work is performed in both office and manufacturing plant settings, with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to conduct physical inspections, stand for extended periods, and respond to emergencies as needed.
