The Role
As a Junior Accountant, you’ll support the Finance Team in managing day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, bank and general ledger reconciliations, and expense tracking. You’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and financial regulations. This role also involves contributing to the implementation of IFS and helping the team meet group-set deadlines.
This is a fixed term role for 6 month with possible extension upon review.
Principle Accountabilities
- Assist with day-to-day accounting tasks and data entry
- Perform general ledger (GL) reconciliations
- Handle bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Manage purchase invoice processing, PO Reconciliations, Stock checks
- Process employee expense claims with accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain and archive financial documents for audit and compliance purposes
- Support the team in preparing reports and maintaining financial records
- Work closely with senior accountants on various projects
- Use accounting software and Excel to update records and generate reports
- Assists in travel ticket bookings
- Other ad hoc tasks as assigned by the seniors
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Knowledge of ERP System preferably Sage or Quick Books, not mandatory
- Up to 2 years of accounting or finance experience
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn
- Familiarity with Excel and basic accounting software
- Good communication and time management skills
