Key Duties and Responsibilities of a Lifeguard:
- Supervision and Monitoring: Lifeguards continuously monitor swimming areas to identify potential hazards and ensure the safety of all individuals.
- Emergency Response: They must be able to quickly and effectively respond to emergencies, providing first aid, CPR, and performing water rescues.
- Enforcement of Rules: Lifeguards enforce facility rules and regulations to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Safety Checks and Maintenance: They regularly inspect the facility for hazards, maintain safety equipment, and ensure the cleanliness of the pool area.
- Communication and Education: Lifeguards educate patrons on water safety and swimming techniques.
- Assistance with Swimming Lessons: They may assist in organizing and conducting swimming lessons and water safety programs.
- Reporting and Documentation: Lifeguards may be required to prepare and maintain activity reports and document incidents.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Lifeguard Certification: A current Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid/AED certification is essential.
