Job Summary: The Warehouse Assistant's primary role is to support the efficient operation of a warehouse by assisting with the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Unloading:Receiving incoming shipments, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders, and unloading goods from trucks or other vehicles.
- Storage and Organization:Storing items in designated locations, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring the warehouse is organized and clean.
- Order Fulfillment:Picking items from storage, packing them for shipment, and preparing orders for delivery.
- Inventory Management:Conducting regular inventory checks, identifying discrepancies, and reporting any issues to supervisors.
- Equipment Operation:Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and efficiently.
- Maintaining a Safe and Organized Workspace:Ensuring the warehouse is free of hazards, adhering to safety regulations, and keeping the workspace tidy.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Physical Stamina: Warehouse work can be physically demanding, requiring lifting, carrying, and moving items.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy is crucial for maintaining inventory records and fulfilling orders correctly.
- Teamwork: Warehouse assistants often work as part of a team and need to collaborate effectively.
