Job Description
The job purpose is to ensure the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data related to renewable energy markets, industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments. Also, to provide actionable insights to support Masdar’s initiatives, market expansion, partnership development, and project investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support in developing and delivering the annual operational business plans and KPIs for the unit and contribute to performance monitoring and reporting for the unit so that overall objectives are met.
- Collect and analyze data from a variety of external sources, including market reports, public databases, government publications, and industry news, focusing on renewable energy sectors such as clean energy, green hydrogen, and sustainability.
- Perform in-depth competitive analysis, identifying key market players, emerging competitors, and disruptive trends in both regional and global markets.
- Provide quantitative and qualitative insights into market size, growth potential, demand-supply dynamics, and regulatory frameworks to inform market entry, partnerships, and investment strategies.
- Develop and maintain models to forecast market trends, renewable energy demand, and pricing dynamics based on data collected from various sources, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Track key industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological innovations to identify potential opportunities and threats that could impact the company’s strategic goals.
- Present actionable insights and data-driven recommendations to the Strategy & Partnerships team to support long-term planning and market positioning.
- Provide market intelligence support for strategic partnership development by assessing market attractiveness, competitor positioning, and potential partner capabilities.
- Collaborate with the team to conduct due diligence and provide market assessments for new market entry, identifying key factors such as regulatory conditions, market readiness, and competitive landscape.
- Support the development of market entry strategies and business cases for new markets and business lines, ensuring that the company’s transformation initiatives are data-driven and well-informed.
- Assist in the evaluation of new renewable energy projects, helping assess market viability, potential ROI, and risks associated with each opportunity.
- Conduct research on industry-specific investment opportunities, provide market insights, and ensure alignment between investment strategies and overall corporate goals.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Market Research, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA, MS in Renewable Energy, or Energy Economics) is an advantage.
Preferred Experience:
- At least 5–7 years of experience in market intelligence, research, or strategy roles, preferably in the renewable energy, clean tech, or energy sectors.
- Experience in market analysis, competitive intelligence, or business strategy, with a focus on understanding energy sector dynamics, technological advancements, and regulatory trends.
- Experience in supporting strategic partnerships, market entry strategies, and investment evaluations, particularly in emerging markets or renewable energy projects.
Job-Specific Skills:
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and other market research tools, including data visualization and dashboarding software.
- Familiarity with industry-specific modeling techniques, such as market sizing, forecasting, and pricing analysis.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to create clear, concise reports and deliver insights to senior management.
- Attention to detail with a passion for accuracy and ensuring high-quality, reliable market intelligence.
