Job Purpose
To oversee and manage the entire operational workflow of the textile and garment manufacturing unit, ensuring optimal productivity, quality, and efficiency while adhering to cost, delivery, and compliance requirements. The role requires a strong understanding of fabric sourcing, garment production processes, quality control, and supply chain management within the textile industry.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production & Manufacturing Management
- Plan, schedule, and oversee daily production activities to meet delivery deadlines.
- Monitor production KPIs such as output, wastage, downtime, and efficiency.
- Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity.
- Coordinate with production supervisors, line managers, and technicians to resolve bottlenecks.
2. Quality Assurance
- Ensure all garments meet required quality standards and buyer specifications.
- Work closely with the QA/QC team to address defects, rejections, and compliance issues.
- Oversee implementation of quality control procedures at each production stage.
3. Supply Chain & Inventory Control
- Oversee procurement of raw materials, fabrics, trims, and accessories.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent production delays or overstocking.
- Liaise with vendors, mills, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and cost control.
4. Cost & Budget Management
- Prepare and monitor production budgets and cost reports.
- Optimize operational costs without compromising quality.
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost-effective purchasing.
5. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to UAE labor laws, health & safety regulations, and buyer compliance standards.
- Oversee workplace safety protocols and conduct regular inspections.
- Maintain records for audits, certifications, and compliance checks.
6. Team Leadership & Development
- Manage and mentor production, planning, and support teams.
- Conduct performance reviews and recommend training programs.
- Promote teamwork, discipline, and high-performance culture.
7. Coordination & Reporting
- Collaborate with merchandising, design, and marketing teams to align production with orders.
- Prepare regular operational reports for management review.
- Act as the main point of contact for client visits, factory audits, and production meetings.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of textile and garment production processes (knits, wovens, embroidery, printing, etc.).
- Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in production management software and MS Office.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Garment Technology, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 8–12 years’ experience in textile/garment manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in UAE or GCC manufacturing units preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar operational excellence methodologies is an advantage.
