We are looking for an experienced Painting Supervisor to manage and oversee blasting and painting works across various projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that all activities are executed within the stipulated time, budget, and quality standards while maintaining strict adherence to safety and company guidelines.
I. Purpose
To undertake the blasting & painting works on various projects with available resources within stipulated time, budget & acceptable quality.
II. Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Plan & execute blasting and painting activities until project completion based on project requirements.
- Delegate/assign duties for personnel under responsibility and ensure close monitoring for timely completion.
- Receive work packages with budget man-hours for painting works, ensure adherence to WPS guidelines, and guide Foreman/Leadman to achieve productivity targets. Raise concerns to superiors and PMT when required.
- Optimize available resources (men, machinery & materials) in consultation with superiors to achieve project schedule adherence.
- Estimate paint material requirements for project completion, raise PRs for procurement, and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely availability without overstocking.
- Maintain daily progress reports for each project and update PMT/superiors during production review meetings.
- Coordinate with other production personnel to resolve interference issues promptly for smooth and cost-effective job completion.
- Ensure compliance with specifications, work instructions, procedures, schedules, and work packages.
- Enforce HSE policy adherence and safeguard men and materials.
- Participate in accident/incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure Foremen/Leadmen conduct toolbox talks and maintain effective housekeeping for high standards of work culture.
- Monitor and evaluate productivity, efficiency, and performance of personnel under responsibility; highlight shortages in resources in advance.
- Coordinate with Maintenance and Stores departments for equipment maintenance and tool requirements.
- Perform other duties as instructed by superiors that are essential for the effective functioning of the yard.
III. Dimensions
- Responsible for planning and execution of blasting & painting works.
- Supervises a team of Foremen/Leadmen and painting personnel.
- Accountable for productivity, safety, quality, and adherence to allocated man-hours.
IV. Position Qualifications
Description: Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in blasting and painting supervision within fabrication or industrial projects. Strong leadership, organizational, and planning skills required.
Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy (MS Office).
Equipment Knowledge: Painting equipment, blasting tools, safety gear, and material handling equipment.
