A plumbing draftsman with construction experience is responsible for preparing detailed plumbing drawings, layouts, and designs for water supply, drainage, and fire-fighting systems, ensuring compliance with construction codes and coordinating with engineers and site teams.
Key responsibilities include:
Creating accurate technical drawings and schematics for plumbing projects using CAD software.
Modifying and updating drawings to reflect design changes and construction needs.
Closely collaborating with engineers, architects, and other trades (like electrical/HVAC) for project requirements and system integration.
Ensuring designs comply with local and international plumbing codes and standards.
Providing support during construction by conducting site inspections and resolving design-related issues.
Required qualifications and experience:
Minimum of 4 years relevant experience as a plumbing draftsman in construction or MEP projects.
Proven proficiency in CAD drafting tools; AutoCAD.
Strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, codes, and technical drawing interpretation.
Good communication skills and ability to work in teams as well as independently.
