The key objectives for this role are:
- Overseeing a team of engineers and designers to deliver accurate offshore structural designs.
- Reviewing calculations, datasheets, and drawings to meet project specifications and industry standards.
- Developing efficient and sustainable designs from conceptual to detailed stages.
- Identifying and mitigating technical and commercial risks in offshore structural engineering.
- Utilizing industry-standard tools like STAAD.PRO, SACS, and ANSYS for structural analysis.
- Collaborating with other departments to optimize layouts and resolve interference issues.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all structural work
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Leading a team of Structural Engineers, designers and delivering the offshore structural design calculations & drawings within stipulated time by providing the proper guidance & technical support
- Produce, review, and take responsibility for the accuracy of detailed calculations, Structural engineering datasheets and drawings to specify the Structural engineering requirements of our projects
- As required, perform the role of Lead Offshore Structural Engineer including estimating and planning work as well as progress reporting.
- Follow company standards and procedures to schedule and budget as advised by the Lead Offshore Structural Engineer
- Remain up to date with the latest technical developments in your fields of expertise
- Demonstrate, provide and develop appropriate technical solutions for specific project issues
- Ensure the delivery of challenging project and client targets using sound technical knowledge and decision-making skills
- Familiarity with engineering software such as STAAD.PRO, SACS, Matt 3D, etc. - both as a user and checker.
- Take a proactive approach to personal & professional development.
- Ensure Wood and Client Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures are followed and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all associated work
- Demonstrate appreciation of commercial and technical risks, managing these appropriately within own work and highlighting any significant issues to Lead Structural Engineer/ Engineering Manager.
- Seek and support opportunities for department and project improvement and contribute to developing solutions.

Expected:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural or Offshore Marine Engineering or Similar
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
- Proven core Structural Engineering skills, including design experience and preferably in the offshore Oil & Gas sector.
- Experience of working in a variety of projects and phases, including greenfield and brownfield, on and offshore, Pre-FEED through to EPC, with a focus on offshore upstream.
- A self-motivated, proactive individual with high achievement drive and initiative, excellent verbal and written communication skills and good organisational awareness
- Ability to impact and influence fellow workers
- Demonstration of customer focus and ability to respond to customer needs whilst achieving project and corporate objectives
