We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer with a strong background in the garments/apparel industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and procuring raw materials, trims, and finished garments while maintaining solid vendor relationships, particularly in India, China, and Bangladesh. Strong costing knowledge, supplier negotiation skills, and a valid driving license are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source fabrics, trims, accessories, and finished garments from trusted suppliers in India, China, and Bangladesh.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
- Conduct costing analysis for materials and finished goods, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing aligned with business targets.
- Negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules with suppliers to meet production timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate closely with the design, merchandising, and production teams to understand purchasing needs.
- Track and manage purchase orders, shipping schedules, and inventory levels.
- Evaluate supplier performance regularly and ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
- Monitor market trends and sourcing opportunities in the apparel industry to reduce costs and improve supply chain efficiency.
- Ensure all procurement documentation is accurate, updated, and in compliance with company policies.
- Travel locally and internationally as needed to visit suppliers, attend sourcing trips, or industry trade shows.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3–5 years of purchasing experience in the garments/apparel industry.
- In-depth knowledge of fabric types, garment construction, trims, and production processes.
- Proven costing and pricing analysis skills in the fashion or apparel sector.
- Strong sourcing network and established relationships with vendors in India, China, and Bangladesh.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and sourcing/ERP software.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driving license and ability to travel when required.
