About the role
This role is focused on acquiring new SME clients and delivering customized banking solutions across Working Capital, Unsecured Loans, Merchant POS Loans, Asset-Backed Lending, and Trade Finance products. You will have a strong sales orientation, deep expertise in SME lending, and a passion for building long-term client relationships from the ground up. This role reports to Associate Vice President - SME Acquisition
Qualifications
What You’ll Be Doing
- Identify, prospect, and onboard new SME clients through direct sales, referrals, partnerships, and market outreach
- Understand client needs and offer tailored banking solutions including Working Capital Loans, Unsecured Loans, Merchant POS Lending, Supply Chain Finance, Asset-Backed Loans, and Commercial Loans
- Ensure compliance with the Staff Code of Conduct and bank procedures during client onboarding and deal execution
- Meet and exceed monthly and annual acquisition, sales, and fee targets
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools and lead-tracking systems
- Drive new relationship growth and revenue generation
- Deliver a seamless onboarding experience by coordinating with internal teams for credit processing, documentation, and account activation
- Conduct KYC and due diligence check in line with bank policies and regulatory standards
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor offerings, and SME sector dynamics
- Proactively identify opportunities to pitch RAKBANK’s value proposition to small and medium businesses
- Partner with Credit, Operations, Product, and Compliance teams to ensure high-quality service delivery
- Structure deals that align with both client needs and the bank’s risk appetite
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
- Experience: Strong background in lending product sales and new client acquisition
- Industry Exposure: Exposure to Banking or financial services, with a focus on relationship management, or assistant relationship manager or financial services sales
Skills
- Deep knowledge of SME lending products and banking solutions
- Strong credit assessment, financial analysis, and deal structuring capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with banking systems and credit workflow platforms
- Solid understanding of credit risk, banking products, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills for internal and external coordination
