Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Work collaboratively with regional accounting teams and other departments (e.g., tax, engineering) to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Stay up to date on changes in international accounting standards and regulations.
General Ledger Maintenance
- Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and comply with accounting standards.
- Reconcile accounts, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and intercompany transactions.
Month-End and Year-End Close Processes
- Close the books for assigned regions on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
- Participation in preparing financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate closing of accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Compliance and Audit
- Ensure compliance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and other regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and support external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Internal Controls
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal control policies and procedures.
- Identify and address weaknesses in internal controls.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting systems or updates to existing systems.
Team Leadership and Development
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience in public accounting offices or a similar industry role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
