The Senior Mechanical Estimation Engineer is responsible for leading the preparation of accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Firefighting) as part of the tendering and bidding process. The role involves interpreting project specifications and drawings, preparing BOQs, obtaining material and subcontractor pricing, and ensuring timely and competitive submission of bids in line with client requirements and company policies. Candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in Data Center projects.
- Study and review tender documents including drawings, specifications, scope of work, and contract requirements.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for mechanical systems.
- Evaluate and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations for compliance, technical alignment, and competitiveness.
- Conduct cost analysis and prepare value engineering options where applicable.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and clarifications with clients and consultants.
- Coordinate with Design, Procurement, and Operations teams for technical and commercial inputs.
- Prepare and submit complete tender packages within deadline, including technical and commercial proposals.
- Maintain a database of suppliers, subcontractors, and historical pricing for reference.
- Support the Estimation Manager in strategy meetings and decision-making for bid/no-bid.
- Assist in post-tender clarifications, negotiations, and handover to the execution team after award.
- Ensure estimates comply with industry standards, client requirements, and internal benchmarks.
