The Storekeeper will be required to perform warehousing and inventory management tasks within the engineering and maintenance stores of the Dubai Metro.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inbound Receiving
    • Offload deliveries, identify items, and perform a physical inspection of the delivery.
    • Review and verify inbound documents from suppliers for accuracy and completeness.
    • Verify lot numbers and conversion factors on all delivered purchase orders, then record the items in the Maintenance Management System (MMS), ensuring that quantities and details match the delivery documentation.
    • Label items with Item ID and asset stickers (where applicable) after confirming their receipt in the MMS.
    • Upload signed inbound documents into the MMS.
    • Store materials in the designated areas using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks or trolleys, and ensure the First In, First Out (FIFO) method is applied in inventory arrangement.
    • Segregate hazardous materials by type and ensure Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are available.
    • Submit invoices and related inbound documents to the Finance department as required.
  • Outbound Issuance
    • Physically pick and arrange materials for all issuance requests from the maintenance teams.
    • Record all issued materials in the MMS to ensure inventory accuracy.
    • Prepare material kits according to pick sheets / work orders provided by Engineers and Stores management.
    • Assist in preparing the kitting zone by organising the necessary materials for kit assembly.
    • Support the delivery and return of kits to and from designated maintenance team locations and satellite stores.
    • Physically verify pick sheets and returned materials, and record all material movements between the store and the kitting preparation zone in the MMS.
    • Assist the Inventory Controller and Lead Storekeeper staff by physically verifying serial numbers and asset numbers of returned assets against documents such as Material Return Requests, Asset Fault Reports and Decommissioning Reports.
    • Process returned materials/assets from maintenance teams in the MMS.
    • Maintain all outbound related trackers, such as the Manual Issuance Tracker and Scaffolding Issuance Tracker.
  • General Tasks
    • Record all stock movements in the MMS to ensure accurate inventory tracking.
    • Perform and coordinate regular stock audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
    • Assist with internal cycle counts and the annual stock take.
    • Carry out manual handling and material movement tasks as required.
    • Arrange materials in line with 5S standards and the FIFO methodology.
    • Safely handle chemicals and inflammable materials.
    • Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness across all storage areas.
    • Sort, pack, wrap, tie and label items as per the standard procedures.
    • Inspect spill kits and first aid kits monthly to ensure readiness.
    • Maintain accurate trackers and records for tool calibration, waste management and staff refreshments.
    • Accept waste return forms from maintenance teams and guide end-users on proper waste segregation and disposal.
    • Conduct daily inspections of storage locations and raise service requests for any identified defects.
    • Operate forklifts and other lifting equipment, provided legal and official training is completed.
    • Prepare and review shift handover documentation to ensure a smooth transition between shifts.
    • Immediately report any incidents, accidents, or near misses to supervisors.
    • Identify and implement new ways of working that will improve efficiency in the supply chain management processes.
    • Perform higher responsibility tasks and other duties, as directed by supervisors.
    • File and organise all documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    • Respond to or forward incoming emails to the concerned team in a timely manner.

  • Proficient in using ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems, preferably IBM Maximo.
  • Ability to lift, move and handle heavy items and packages for extended periods.

Degree, Diploma or other relevant qualification in engineering,
supply chain management or another relevant field

Certification in supply
chain management.


Experience

A minimum 1 year of stores / warehousing experience


Experience in rail or a
similar industry.


Skills / Training

  • Fluent in English.
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail to accurately plan deliveries.
  • Ability to work productively in a fast-paced, team orientated environment.
  • Computer literate with sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office application including Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Word in particular.

Holder of a valid UAE
forklift licence.
