Key Responsibilities – Technical Interior Designer
- Produce Precise Technical Drawings
- Generate detailed construction documentation, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and millwork layouts, that are accurate and ready for fabrication or construction.
- Review Shop Drawings
Examine and validate shop drawings submitted by manufacturers or fabricators ensuring they align with construction documents, include accurate dimensions, installation details, and any deviations are clearly noted for coordination and approval.Create comprehensive spec sheets that outline materials, finishes, hardware, dimensions, compliance requirements, and installation guidelines often enhanced with CAD illustrations, product images, or sketches to ensure clarity.Coordinate with architects, engineers, fabricators, contractors, and vendors to integrate technical solutions smoothly and ensure design intent is maintained throughout all project phases.Enforce adherence to technical standards, building codes, and quality controls in all drawings and documentation to minimize errors during fabrication and installation.Convert design concepts into practical, buildable solutions anticipating fabrication and site constraints to prevent costly rework.When required, assist with construction-phase queries or clarifications to ensure that installations follow the approved drawings and specifications.Stay updated on trends, materials, detailing techniques, and software to elevate the efficiency and precision of technical deliverables.
