IT Manager

The British International School Abu Dhabi is looking to appoint an outstanding IT Manager to join a well-established, supportive team in a highly successful and expanding school.

About the Role

Reporting to the Vice Principal and leading the IT team, as IT Manager, you will be responsible for developing an efficient IT support team to effectively operate and develop all IT services across the school. Leading and working with senior colleagues, you will create a clear, ambitious, and achievable school IT vision and strategic plan. You will plan and manage IT services and devices across the school as well as having the responsibility of managing and controlling the whole school IT budget.

A key aspect of this position is to ensure high quality IT services are delivered and continually improved, as well as working closely with academic colleagues to drive improvements in educational technology and teaching and learning. It will be your responsibility to ensure the IT team’s knowledge is kept up to date, in order to manage and improve modern IT services which support the operations of the school and the student’s educational needs.

As IT Manager you will also be accountable for ensuring all school systems and infrastructures are renewed and updated to guarantee maximum functionality and IT security, as well as ensuring the school’s network is always operational and effective disaster recovery plans are in place.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology
  • Experience of supporting an Office 365 centric organisation
  • Advanced working knowledge of standard are Wireless networking technologies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Solid project management skills
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience of working in an educational environment
