Job Summary:
The Service Advisor is the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services. This role involves a combination of customer service, technical knowledge, and administrative skills. The Service Advisor is responsible for greeting customers, accurately diagnosing vehicle issues, providing estimates for repairs, and ensuring a smooth and efficient service experience. A key requirement for this position is proven experience in handling insurance and warranty claims, as the Service Advisor will be responsible for processing and managing these claims from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and professionally. Listen to their concerns regarding their vehicle's performance. Clearly explain the diagnostic process, repair options, and associated costs. Provide regular updates on the status of their vehicle.
- Vehicle Diagnosis: Collaborate with technicians to accurately identify and understand the customer's vehicle issues. Translate complex technical information into understandable terms for the customer.
Insurance and Warranty Claims:
- Process Claims: Accurately complete and submit all necessary paperwork for insurance and warranty claims.
- Liaise with Adjusters: Communicate effectively with insurance adjusters and warranty providers to ensure claims are approved in a timely manner.
- Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all claim-related documents, including repair orders, estimates, and communication logs.
- Customer Guidance: Advise customers on the insurance and warranty claim process, helping them understand their coverage and any out-of-pocket costs.
- Administrative Tasks: Schedule appointments, answer phone calls, manage the service bay workflow, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a Service Advisor in an automotive or dealership environment.
- Demonstrable experience and a strong track record of successfully handling and processing automotive insurance and warranty claims.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Solid understanding of automotive systems and repair procedures.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
