AutoCAD Drawing Expert - Marble & Granite Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled AutoCAD professional with specialized experience in the marble and granite industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in creating precise technical drawings for stone fabrication and installation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed AutoCAD drawings for marble and granite projects including countertops, monuments, architectural elements, and custom installations
- Develop shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation plans
- Generate cutting lists and material optimization layouts
- Collaborate with fabrication teams to ensure drawings meet production requirements
- Review and revise existing drawings based on client feedback and field measurements
- Create 3D models and renderings when required
- Maintain drawing standards and libraries specific to stone industry applications
- Coordinate with project managers, sales teams, and installation crews
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of AutoCAD experience with focus on marble/granite industry
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D drawing techniques
- Strong understanding of stone fabrication processes and limitations
- Knowledge of industry-standard stone thicknesses, edge profiles, and installation methods
- Experience with templating and field measurement interpretation
- Familiarity with CNC programming requirements (preferred)
- Understanding of structural considerations for stone installations
- Ability to read architectural plans and specifications
Technical Skills Required
- Advanced AutoCAD proficiency (latest versions preferred)
- Experience with stone industry-specific CAD plugins/software (e.g., Granite CAD, StoneCAD)
- Knowledge of material properties for various stone types
- Understanding of fabrication equipment capabilities and limitations
- Basic knowledge of structural engineering principles for stone applications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Experience
- Previous work with granite fabricators, monument companies, or stone contractors
- Experience with kitchen and bathroom countertop projects
- Knowledge of building codes related to stone installations
- Familiarity with natural stone quarrying and selection processes
- Experience with commercial and residential projects
