Job Summary:
The Butcher is responsible for preparing, cutting, trimming, and packaging meat products according to company standards and customer requirements. The role requires excellent knife skills, knowledge of meat cuts, hygiene standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cut, trim, bone, and prepare meat products for sale according to specifications.
- Weigh, wrap, label, and price meat products.
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of meat to maintain freshness.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and tools.
- Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Assist customers by providing information on meat cuts, cooking recommendations, and special orders.
- Monitor inventory levels and inform the supervisor of restocking needs.
- Inspect meat for quality and freshness before preparation.
