BUYING ASSISTANT
We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Book Buying Assistant to support our book buying operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with our Senior Buyer to research titles, communicate with publishers, manage orders and help keep our inventory exciting and up to date.

Key Responsibilities
· Assist with selecting and ordering books based on market trends, customer demand, and store needs.
· Communicate with publishers, distributors regarding availability, pricing, and terms.
· Track and organize purchase orders, invoices, and delivery schedules.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new releases, upcoming authors, and seasonal trends, ensuring we always have the right titles available.
· Help analyze sales data to identify high-performing categories and optimize stock
· Support inventory management tasks such as re-orders, returns, and shelf curation
· Collaborate with team members on engaging store promotions and visually stunning displays.
Skills and Qualifications:
· With at least 2 years of experience in the same field.
· Bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in any relevant course.
· Strong interest in books, publishing, and current literary trends
· Excellent organizational and communication skills
· Experience in retail, book buying, or publishing is a plus
· Comfortably working with spreadsheets, MS Office suites and inventory software, a Microsoft Dynamics 365 user is an added advantage.
· Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking
· Passion for providing readers with thoughtful and diverse book selections
