Job Summary
This is a full-time on-site role for a Chemistry Instructor with laboratory instruction
experience, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The ideal candidate will be
responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons in both general and organic
chemistry at the post-secondary level. This role includes preparing course materials,
conducting lectures and laboratory sessions, assessing student performance, and
providing academic support. The instructor ensures that students develop a solid
understanding of chemical principles, laboratory techniques and safety, and scientific
reasoning. Candidates should be passionate about science education and capable of
fostering curiosity and analytical thinking in students.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lectures on various general and organic chemistry topics in line with institutional and curriculum guidelines.
- Develop and implement laboratory experiments to reinforce lecture material.
- Evaluate, monitor, and provide feedback on student performance, both in practical and theoretical work. Conduct regular office hours to provide additional support to students.
- Maintain and manage laboratory equipment, chemicals, and safety protocols.
- Demonstrate and supervise safe laboratory practices during experiments.
- Support students in conducting experiments, recording observations, an drawing scientific conclusions.
- Ensure proper storage, inventory, and disposal of chemicals and materials in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative teams to improve the science curriculum.
- Encourage scientific thinking, investigation, and teamwork among students.
- Stay current with scientific developments and integrate new findings or techniques into lessons where appropriate.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and extracurricular science activities as required.
- Utilize technology and multimedia resources to enhance teaching effectiveness
Qualifications
- A Bachelors degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field
- Previous teaching experience at the college level
- Certified Laboratory Technician/Technologist or Lab Safety Certification from a recognized body is an advantage
- First Aid and Health & Safety Certification (such as OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent) is desirable
Skills & Experience
- Effective communication and classroom management skills.
- Hands-on laboratory teaching experience and strong subject knowledge.
- Experience with educational technology and online teaching platforms such as Google Classroom
- Ability to develop and deliver course materials effectively
- Ability to prepare clear and concise lab instructions and technical notes.
- Proficient in using laboratory and safety equipment
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Certifications Required
