Civil Foreman Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Site Supervision & Coordination: Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring tasks are completed on time, within budget, and adhere to project specifications and safety standards.
- Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of construction workers, subcontractors, and laborers, providing guidance and support to maintain high productivity and quality.
- Quality Control & Compliance: Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets quality standards and complies with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Resource Management: Allocate and monitor resources effectively, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to meet project requirements.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate daily records of work performed, materials used, and labor attendance; prepare progress reports for project managers.
- Safety Enforcement: Promote and enforce adherence to safety protocols, conducting regular safety meetings and ensuring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Problem Solving: Identify and address on-site challenges promptly to minimize project delays and maintain workflow.
Qualifications & Skills
- Educational Background: Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years in civil infrastructure projects, with at least 3 years in the UAE, preferably in bridge or infrastructure projects.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications; familiarity with project management software.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities to motivate and guide construction crews.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic or Hindi/Urdu is a plus.
- Safety Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction safety standards and local building codes.
- Additional Requirements: Valid UAE Driving License; familiarity with local construction site regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: Additional certifications in construction safety or project management (e.g., OSHA, PMP) are advantageous.
- Technological Skills: Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) or other innovative construction technologies.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in a second language for effective communication in multicultural environments.
