About the Job:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commis 1 to join the Pastry team in Jumeirah Mina Al Salam. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:
- Gather, measure, mix, and prepare meal ingredients, sauces, and seasonings according to established recipes and specifications.
- Set up stations with necessary par stocks of menu items, maintain cleanliness, and perform food preparation tasks assigned by the Demi Chef | Chef De Partie.
- Execute cooking techniques and plating to exact specifications provided by the Demi Chef | Chef De Partie, ensuring dishes are prepared to high standards.
- Document inventory of kitchen supplies, monitor stock levels, and notify supervisors of low stock situations to maintain sufficient supplies.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as braising pans, ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers effectively, ensuring correct settings for cooking and baking temperatures.
- Follow food safety and hygiene practices, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items according to standard protocols.
About You:
- Proficient in English (Read/Write/Speak)
- Expert in food quality and presentation skills
- Adaptability and appreciation of cultural diversity
- Team Player with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail
- 1 year of experience in a range of kitchen areas; ideally within the luxury hospitality industry.
