The Commis Chef – Chinese Cuisine is responsible for assisting in the preparation and production of authentic Chinese dishes under the guidance of senior chefs. This role requires a strong willingness to learn, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of Chinese cooking techniques and ingredients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients (chopping, marinating, portioning) for wok, dim sum, roasting, or noodle sections.
- Support the Chef de Partie and other senior chefs in daily kitchen operations.
- Cook basic dishes under supervision, ensuring high quality and authentic taste.
- Ensure all mise en place is prepared ahead of service time.
- Adhere strictly to recipes, preparation methods, and portion control.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in work areas in accordance with food safety standards.
- Properly store food items and monitor stock levels of ingredients.
- Assist in receiving deliveries and checking quality and quantity.
- Learn and apply traditional Chinese culinary techniques including stir-frying, steaming, braising, and roasting.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the chef team.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year experience in a professional kitchen; exposure to Chinese cuisine preferred.
- Culinary diploma or certification is an advantage but not required.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Passion for Chinese food and a strong willingness to learn and grow.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Physically fit, able to stand for long periods and work under pressure.
- Flexible with working hours, including weekends and holidays.

Pay: From AED3,500.00 per month
