• Responsible for the planning, supervision, Monitoring and coordination of all activities, policies and procedure of the medical imaging service in its compliance with JCIA, re regulatory and legal requirements and the selection and for the selection and appointment of all medical imaging department staff.
• Administrative and clinical oversight of overall Quality Assurance, Quality Control program, policies and procedure of the medical imaging service, Organization, activities and maintenance of standards within the Bareen departments.
• Responsible for development, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures update in its compliance with JCIA, regulatory and legal requirements.
• Responsible for recommending outside sources of radiology and diagnostic imaging services.
• Responsible for monitoring and reviewing all radiology and diagnostic imaging services.
• Responsible for providing 24 hours radiography services.
• Participate as a member of the Medical Executive Committee in the development of the hospital’s overall objectives, planning and resource allocation.
• Though the Vice Director or Director of Medical Affairs, exercise such authority as deemed necessary to supervise the professional care provided by all members of the medical staff assigned to the department.
• Advice the Medical Executive Committee with respect to the quality of medical diagnosis, care and treatment provided to the in-patients and out-patients of the Department.
• Be responsible for the organization and implementation of the clinical review within the Department and further encourage continuing medical education related to the Department. Meet with the members of the medical staff assigned to the Department and direct the organization so as to provide medical care to all patients under the responsibility of the Department.
• Advise the Medical Director of any patient who is not receiving the appropriate hospital treatment and care.
• Report to the Medical Director and to the Department on activities of the Department including utilization of resources.
• Make recommendations to the Medical Director regarding medical manpower needs of the Department.
• Review and approve or disapprove specific procedural privileges requested by all members of the Department.
• Advise the members of the Department regarding current hospital and departmental policies, objectives and rules.
• Hold regular meetings with the members of the Department.
• Recommend and approve personnel actions, such as hiring(s), transfers and promotions.
• Plan, scope and emphasize the objectives of the Department conferring with the Medical Director, Chief Radiologic Technologist, Administrators, Head or Chief of other departments and medical staff to ascertain hospital needs.
• Participate with personnel of other departments in planning joint administrative and technical services. Recommend methods and procedures for coordinating radiological services with other patient care services.
• Investigate, study trends and developments in radiological practices and techniques. Develop operation manual, methods and procedure reflecting applicable advances in the fields to guide professional and technical staff.
• Establish and enforce through the Chief radiographer the safety regulations for the Department to ensure that both patient and hospital personnel receive maximum protection from the hazardous effects to roentgen rays.
• Instruct staff on theory and practice of radiologic technology by lecturing, conducting seminars or providing individual instructions on the job.
• Perform other related consulting, advising and coordinating duties as required.
• Practice diagnostic radiology.
• Interpret study results, verify and report the results of studies.
• Verify qualification and capabilities of all other Radiologist.
• Arrange radiology meetings with other clinical department in the hospital and different Radiology departments in other hospitals according to the Joint Board for Post graduate Medical Education yearly calendar.
• Notify the Medical Director of his absence and recommend an alternative from within the Department.
• Comply with the standards laid down by the Approved International Accreditation Standards and performs the duties necessary to support and achieve accreditation.
• Through the chain of command and/or occurrence variance report, identifies any occurrence not consistent with the operation of the Hospital or standard of service for patients, employees or visitors and situations that put patients, staff or visitors at risk for injury or other harm.
• Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.

• Graduate of a Medical School recognized by the American Medical Association or by the British Medical Association or any Medical School approved by the DOH. Maintain a current license to practice medicine.
• Certification in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology or the College of Radiologists of the United Kingdom as a Fellow, or equivalent certificate approved by DOH.
• Three (3) years’ experience as Chief of Radiology. Should also be fifteen (15) years post-graduation (10) years at least in the field of Radiology in recognized hospitals.
