Mandate Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree holder and a qualified accountant/MBA Finance – or pursuing advanced level /professional qualification in these areas
- At least 4 years’ work experience in the Finance function of a large bank with exposure to Financial Controls Function
- A thorough understanding of finance and accounting concepts
- Strong computer skills in MS Office and prior experience of working in an ERP system (Oracle, SAP etc.)
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable to work in a multi-cultural environment. Good interpersonal skills to liaise with various departments such as IT, Operations and Front Office.
Organization Unit Purpose
F&A unit is the backend shared services arm for the Group Finance created under the ENBD Global Services umbrella. F&A unit is created to handle all operational and routine Finance tasks which would not need customer, regulatory authority or business facing.
Job Purpose
The job holder will be part of the Financial Control Pillar and will support Central Financial Controls Function.
Job Content
- To support in implementing and ensuring compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure completeness of Balance Sheet Substantiation for the Entity and independently run the Monthly Account Reconciliation process for the Entity.
- Co-ordinate with Branches and Units to advise improvements in the reconciliation processes in line with Group GL Controls and Reconciliation Policy.
- Analyze the reconciliation from across the bank to identify risk areas.
- Co-ordinate with the Units and Branches to advise necessary action to minimize Controls Risk.
- Timely escalation, of risks identified or exceptions / deviations noted, to the management.
- Preparation and circulation of periodical and ad-hoc reports.
- To suggest and implement process improvements to address any control gaps.
- To work closely with Finance systems team and IT to automate processes and eliminate manual intervention to the extent possible
- Handling of ad-hoc queries/reports
