Purpose of Role/Summary:
The Data Analyst role involves developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports to deliver clear, actionable insights. It requires close collaboration with stakeholders to define KPIs, identify data trends, and support decision-making. The role also promotes data literacy, supports data governance, and ensures data quality in partnership with data engineers.
Main Activities and Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports in Power BI, ensuring consistency, performance, and usability.
- Transform complex datasets into intuitive and visually engaging insights that support business decisions.
- Work closely with stakeholders across departments to gather requirements and define key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Champion data literacy and promote a data-driven mindset through training sessions and workshops for business users.
- Lead the initiative to create and maintain a business data catalogue, ensuring consistent definitions and metrics.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data availability, quality, and performance.
- Translate business needs into analytical solutions that have measurable impact.
- Support data governance practices, ensuring compliance and data integrity across reports.
- Any other duties that are requested and relevant to the role.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or Business Analytics.
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or Business Intelligence Analyst.
- Proven expertise in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and dashboard design.
- Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices for storytelling with data.
- Working knowledge of SQL sufficient for querying and manipulating data.
- Experience driving self-service analytics adoption through coaching, documentation, and templating.
- Demonstrated success in implementing a data culture, including leading training sessions for non-technical users.
- Experience in Forex industry is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts in a simple, engaging manner.
- Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills.
Further Info:
- Working hours are 09:00 – 18:00 Monday to Friday
- The role can be either in Limassol (Cyprus) or Dubai (UAE)
