Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our pediatric dental team in Dubai. The Dental Assistant will support clinical operations by preparing the treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials, and ensuring all procedures are carried out in compliance with DHA regulations and the UAE Dental Practice Act.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment room by adhering to prescribed protocols and sterilization standards.
- Greet and prepare patients for treatment by offering comfort, seating, and proper draping.
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by providing instruments, suctioning, and mixing materials as required.
- Sterilize, package, and deliver dental instruments in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment notes and radiographs.
- Take and develop digital radiographs as per the dentist’s instructions and DHA guidelines.
- Provide patients with oral hygiene instructions, postoperative care guidance, and educational material.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect patient data as per DHA and clinic policies.
- Ensure all dental equipment is well-maintained by performing routine checks and preventive maintenance.
- Monitor and manage dental supply inventory and place orders when necessary.
- Uphold a clean and safe clinical environment, strictly following infection control and sterilization standards in accordance with DHA protocols.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient clinic operations and an excellent patient experience.
Qualifications and Skills
- Valid DHA License or Eligibility Letter as a Dental Assistant (Required).
- Diploma or Certification in Dental Assisting from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience preferred, ideally within a pediatric dental setup.
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including radiography, sterilization, and patient management.
- Familiarity with dental charting software and digital X-ray systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong team player with a compassionate and child-friendly approach.
- High level of professionalism, hygiene, and attention to detail.
