Position Summary:
The Duty Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day operation of HalfCup Dubai. This role ensures that guest experience, service standards, and team performance remain consistently high during assigned shifts.
The Duty Manager acts as the shift leader, working closely with FOH and BOH teams to ensure smooth service, positive team environment, and operational efficiency — aligned with HalfCup brand values of quality, hospitality, and atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
- Lead the floor during service — driving a positive, guest-first culture.
- Ensure every guest receives warm, professional, and efficient service.
- Manage guest flow, waitlist, reservations, and table turnovers smoothly.
- Handle guest complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring resolution.
- Monitor service standards and ensure consistency in line with HalfCup brand.
Operational Management
- Oversee opening, mid-shift, and closing duties.
- Supervise cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation of FOH and public areas.
- Conduct daily briefings and handover reports to GM.
- Ensure all health & safety and Dubai Municipality regulations are followed.
- Support inventory checks and manage stock for FOH items.
Team Leadership & Training
- Lead and support FOH team (Host/Hostess, Waiters, Runners, Baristas) during shifts.
- Coach and mentor team members to maintain high service standards.
- Identify training needs and provide on-the-floor coaching.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
Financial & Administrative
- Monitor daily sales and cash handling during shifts.
- Track labour cost and manage breaks efficiently to support COGs targets.
- Support with sales promotions and marketing activations on the floor.
- Provide daily reports and feedback to General Manager.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience in a Duty Manager, Supervisor, or Shift Leader role in a quality café, restaurant, or brunch concept.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Proven ability to deliver exceptional guest experience in high-volume environment.
- Knowledge of specialty coffee is a plus.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Calm under pressure and able to multi-task during busy service periods.
- Strong understanding of hygiene standards and health & safety compliance.
- Positive energy and team-focused attitude.
